IC-trace server can be installed (remotely) on systems running virtualization software (VMware, free version). This way, one piece of hardware can be shared by several virtual servers.
Without compromising stability we've involved open-source software components to create the most cost-effective solution.
No license costs exist for system software and database, neither for updates.
Workfloor programs can either run on terminals with RDP, on linux stations or Windows PCs.
All modern equipment with communication features (serial, tcp, …) can be integrated. E.g. : scales, counters, PLC, automatic labelling systems, terminals, camera's, measurement equipment for temperature, pH, fat%, meat%, …

IC-trace administration is developed as web application which can run optimally in free Mozilla Firefox web browser. No need to install client programs on each system (terminal / PC or Mac), which is cost efficient.
IC-trace workfloor programs are Java applications that work in several environments like Linux, Windows and Mac OS.

7. Inter-Company traceability by web-services.
Each system has a unique ID (GLN comparable). All products produced by a system contain this ID. Technically IC-trace is able to build a traceability overview (tree) with data from all companies involved with a certain product.

8. Automatic reception.
Another consequence of the inter-company structure of IC-trace is the possibility of integrated and automatic reception performed by web-services. Reception of goods is one of the most time consuming manipulations. This can be reduced by scanning of only one product while all data is automatically created in the local system.

9. Data exchange – easy integration - EDI ready.
On all levels, data exchange is possible by XML, CSV, TXT or other formats. This allows a full two-way integration with external (financial) solutions.
All system features exist to set up an EDI communication with suppliers and/or clients in a minimum of time.
